One of the effects of using tools with poorly built designs is a reduction in the value of your performance. Also, it's hard to attract clients when the quality of your craftsmanship is shoddy. You don't want to make the mistake of ruining the reputation that has taken many years to build.

While I recommend plasma cutters with incredible cutting performance, tools with advanced inverter technology are must-haves for metalworkers.

The Amico CUT-50 is a versatile tool. It's ideal for a range of welding operations, cutting and shaping jobs. This tool might share similar features with other plasma cutters, but it provides more consistent cuts.

Usually, high-performing cutting tools have superior components and impressive technology. When you cut thick and thin metal plates, expect minimal clean-up of chippings with the wire brush.

This 50-Amp cutting tool uses DC Inverter power as its source. It can cut metals with different levels of thickness but handles 1-inch plates with great precision. If you are an undecided buyer, there are some features and specifications that show it's an improved plasma cutter.

Main Features of This Cut 50 Plasma Cutter

Low Maintenance And Air-Cooled System

As a pro-grade cutting machine with loads of components, it comes with an instructional manual that helps users to optimize their functions. The package includes accessories like a 13-ft gun assembly, power adapter (110V & 230V), and 11-ft 630A power cord and works clamp.

While this plasma cutting machine doesn't require regular maintenance, it's in the class of sturdy power tools. Also, its superior inverter technology ensures easy maintenance and less cleaning after work.

When you run this digital plasma cutter with CNC tables, the built-in fan ensures proper ventilation of internal components. Consequently, there's a low risk of over-heating, fire outbreaks, and discharge of noxious gases.

Power Supply

Its output terminal uses the type of direct wire connection that supports fast installation. Normally, cutting speeds (Inch/Min) increase with the amperage value. As a dual voltage (100/240V) plasma cutter, you can slice through 1/2-inch mild steel plates with ease when it's dialed to 60% at 50 Amps.

This plasma cutting machine delivers an efficiency rate of 85%. Also, it cools down without delay after taking some time to cut thick metals.

Ease Of Use

This portable plasma cutter weighs 31 lbs, and it's designed for repair jobs that need high cutting performance. Apart from using this cutting machine for DIY tasks, it can undertake light-duty industrial applications on metal fabrications.

It comes with built-in air filter and pressure gauges that are readable in workspaces with poor illumination.

The ease of using this plasma cutter's hand torch can improve the quality of your project. Also, the manufacturer added a dual-handle design that allows two people to transport this plasma cutter comfortably.

Pros

  • Impact-resistant construction.
  • Automatic voltage regulation.
  • Advanced Amico Power inverter technology.
  • Cleaner cuts on a range of metals.
  • Digital indicator.

 Cons

  • It doesn't have the non-touch pilot Arc technology.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is the recommended inlet pressure?

This digital Air Inverter system requires between 3.5bar to 4.0bar of compressed air pressure to produce continuous cuts on plates. Also, you need to use the right amperage and air pressure settings to ensure cleaner cuts.

What are the maximum thickness levels of plates that match the cutting power of this machine?

With a (maximum) severance thickness of 1 inch, this tool slices 3/4 and 1/4-inch plate flawlessly. It's cutting performance is effective on 1/2-inch Aluminum, 5/8-inch mild steel, and 1/2-inch stainless steel materials.

Final Verdict

This is designed with wide handles. With this pair of handles that offer comfortable grips, the stress of transporting this cutting tool to different on-site locations is low.

Hobbyists and professionals that use dark wear auto-darkening helmets will be happy to use the bright digital indicator on this machine. Also, the cutting tool comes with a set of anti-vibration studs that reduce noise levels during work. If you prefer innovative tools, this Amico Cut 50 Plasma Cutter is the right model.

Hi there,
Thank you for taking the time to post your review.
I’m going to buy one of these Amico plasma cutters but I need to know the difference between the CUT-50 and the APC-50 models.
They are both obviously the 50 amp machines and they are the same price $299 on Amazon.
Can you tell me the difference or which one is better? I called Amico and the girl that answers the phone told me that she could help me but honestly she didn’t know the difference herself. She just read me the specs. She said she would have someone else who knows about them call me back but it’s been four days and no response.
I’m ready to purchase I just don’t know which 50 amp to buy…

Thank you for any info you can offer,
Billy

The best performance differs because of air pressure. If you tell me, why you want to buy then I can suggest you better.
